Huaxia Paper Cutting Museum & Paper Cutting Experience
January 1 - December 31
Free – $6.70
Huaxia Paper Cutting Museum, established in 2000 by Qin Shijiao, represents the Qin family — a distinguished lineage of paper-cutting artists with a history spanning over 140 years and six generations. To date, more than 30 artists from the family have mastered both paper-cutting and traditional illustration.
The museum preserves over 18,000 items, including original paper-cuttings, published works, and related cultural artifacts. Its exhibitions are organized into three main sections:
- Seven galleries showcase traditional folk paper-cutting styles from across China, each representing a unique technique and regional aesthetic.
- One gallery dedicated to contemporary creative works.
- One gallery features works by the Qin family.
In addition to its archival collections, the museum is open to the public free of charge and offers hands-on workshops where visitors can experience the art of paper-cutting firsthand.
Opening Hours: 9:30-12:00 a.m., 2:00-5:00 p.m. (Ticket checking before 16:30)
